Standard Chartered Bangladesh has recently launched Bangla QR payment feature on its SC Mobile App, said a press release.

Among others, Standard Chartered India and South Asia chief executive officer PD Singh, Standard Chartered Bangladesh CEO Naser Ezaz Bijoy, chief technology and operations officer Khaled Aziz and priority and wealth management head Faisal Haque were present.

Bangla QR, an initiative of the Bangladesh Bank, is designed to establish a unified and interoperable payment ecosystem.

Standard Chartered Bangladesh is fully integrated with the National Payment Switch of Bangladesh  and now also with the Bangla QR that is facilitating seamless digital payments across the country, the release said.

The Bangla QR payment feature enables clients to make instant, secure and seamless payments by simply scanning a merchant’s QR code with the SC Mobile App. Whether at local markets, shops or restaurants, clients can now enjoy a contactless payment experience without the need for cash or cards.

Available on both Android and iOS, the new feature further strengthens the Bank’s suite of digital solutions, enhancing convenience and elevating the banking experience for clients.
