
Prime Bank PLC, in collaboration with Jashore University of Science and Technology and its JUST Career Club, recently organised a seminar on the university campus titled ‘Financial Inclusion: Engaging and Inspiring Youth in Banking’.
The seminar was held under the banner of PrimeAcademia- Prime Bank’s flagship campus initiative, introduced as a one-stop banking service concept tailored for academic institutions across Bangladesh.
The event brought together more than 200 students from diverse academic back grounds, creating a vibrant platform.
Md Iqbal Mohsin, director, Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank, delivered the keynote speech, emphasising the critical link between financial literacy, youth empowerment and the national financial inclusion strategies.
A key highlight of the seminar was the introduction of ‘Prime Youth Account’, a student-centric banking solution designed to encourage early financial responsibility.
The seminar was graced by Professor Md Abdul Mazid, vice-chancellor of JUST as chief guest alongside notable speakers including Shaila Abedin, SEVP and head of liability and MM Mahbub Hasan, SVP and Head of financial inclusion and school banking at Prime Bank PLC, who spoke as industry experts.
Md Rafiul Hasan, director, office of student counselling and guidance, JUST, inaugurated the event and stressed the importance of guiding youth towards informed financial decision-making.
