Companies owned by the Ministry of Industries and Investment Corporation of Bangladesh officials held a meeting on July 31, said a press release.

The meeting was part of implementing guidelines given by the chief adviser to review, develop and strengthen the overall condition of the capital market.


Industries secretary Md Obaidur Rahman chaired the meeting held at the ministry premises in the capital. 

Among others, industries additional secretary Rashidul Hasan, additional secretary Md Nuruzzaman, joint secretary Md Sajedur Rahman, deputy secretary Nurun Nahar, ICB managing director Niranjan Chandra Debnath and ICB Capital Management Limited chief executive officer Majeda Khatun were present.

Representatives from Unilever Bangladesh Limited, Nuvista Pharma Limited, Sanofi Bangladesh Limited, IPDC Finance Limited, Reckitt Benckiser (Bangladesh) Limited, The Bengal Glass Workers Limited, Mirpur Ceramic Works Limited and Himadri Limited were present.

The meeting had constructive discussions on offloading companies’ shares to the capital market and on the need for multinational companies in which government ownership is at least 5 per cent of government ownership.
