Hotel Sarina Dhaka has appointed Channa Ekanayake as the new General Manager, says a press release.

Ekanayake brings over 20 years of experience in the global hospitality industry and is set to lead Hotel Sarina Dhaka towards continued excellence in service delivery, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction.


Ekanayake鈥檚 career has spanned prestigious international hotel brands and top-tier resorts, where he has honed his expertise in managing high-performing teams and driving exceptional guest experiences. Prior to his new role at Hotel Sarina Dhaka, he served as the Cluster General Manager for Occidental Hotels Sri Lanka, overseeing Occidental Eden Beruwala and Occidental Paradise Dambulla. During his tenure, he demonstrated remarkable leadership by successfully managing operations, strategic development, and staff training across multiple properties, while ensuring that guest satisfaction and profitability remained at the forefront.

Earlier in his career, Ekanayake held the position of general m鈦癮nager at Club Palm Bay Hotel in Sri Lanka, where he played an integral role in elevating the hotel鈥檚 services and driving strong financial results. He also served as the Resident Manager at Eden Resort & Spa in Beruwala, Sri Lanka, where he was instrumental in overseeing daily hotel operations and enhancing the quality of service in the resort鈥檚 food and beverage outlets, banquet services, and guest accommodations.

With a diverse background that spans leadership positions in various regions, including the UAE, Oman, Bermuda, and Nigeria, Mr. Ekanayake鈥檚 experience has equipped him with an in-depth understanding of luxury hospitality. His previous roles include serving as Director of Food and Beverage at Taj Bentota Resort & Spa, Resident Manager at Eden Resort & Spa, and senior leadership roles at renowned hotels such as Fairmont Hotels in Dubai, Shangri-la- Oman and Bermuda. His global experience brings a wealth of insight and innovation, which will serve to elevate the standard of service at Hotel Sarina Dhaka.

Ekanayake holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Bedfordshire, UK, and is a graduate of the Claremont International Hotel School in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He has also participated in various professional development programs and certifications, including strategic leadership, customer loyalty, and quality service training.
