The National Board of Revenue has appointed Md Rafiqul Islam Chowdhury and Mutasim Billah Faruqui as members (tax) of its board.
Both are currently serving as tax commissioners.
According to a notification signed by Md Zakir Hossain, assistant secretary of the finance ministry, they will assume their new roles under certain conditions.
They must formally hand over their current responsibilities before taking charge of the new positions.
The appointment is on a current charge basis and will not be considered as a formal promotion.
The notification said that holding this position did not grant them eligibility for any future posting or promotion.
The notification also clarified that the term 鈥榗urrent charge鈥� will be mentioned in all relevant official documents.
Moreover, they will receive a duty allowance as determined by the finance ministry.
