
KAM Majedur Rahman on Wednesday joined Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre as its chief executive officer, according to a press release issued by the BIAC.
Majedur Rahman is a seasoned banker and an experienced capital market professional.
Majedur Rahman began his career in Banking in 1981 and worked in Bangladesh, Middle East, Africa and Australia in strategic business transfor-mation, institutional capacity building, risk management, governance and stakeholder relationships.
Currently, Majedur serves as an independent director and chairman of Maldives Islamic Bank, Maldives.
He is also a sponsor director of Financial Excellence Limited (FinExcel) and vice-chairman of Valor of Bangladesh Limited, a non-profit knowledge sharing platform.
Prior to joining BIAC, he was the group CEO of AK Khan and Company Limited.
Rahman also served as managing director of Dhaka Stock Exchange, managing director and CEO of Premier Bank Limited, country head of Bank Alfalah Limited, chief risk officer and additional managing director of AB Bank Limited and deputy managing director of IPDC Finance in Bangladesh.
Majedur Rahman obtained Bachelor鈥檚 and Master鈥檚 degree from University of Dhaka, and attended senior management development programme at Said Business School, Oxford; London Business School and Securities Institute at the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
