Md Zahid Hossain has been appointed as deputy managing director and chief business officer of Mercantile Bank PLC, said a press release.
Previously, he served as senior executive vice-president and divisional head of Bank Asia.
He began his banking career in 1996 as a probationary officer at Eastern Bank.
Later, he joined Bank Asia, where he served for over 21 years.
He obtained BCom (honours) and MCom in finance and banking from the University of Dhaka. Additionally, he earned an MBA and a doctor of business administration from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka.
