M Fazlur Rahman has taken office as chairman of Janata Bank PLC鈥檚 board of directors on Wednesday, said a press release.
Finance ministry鈥檚 Financial Institutions Division issued a circular appointing M Fazlur Rahman, also a former secretary, as the bank鈥檚 chair on August 28.
He will serve as chairman of the bank for three years starting from the date of his joining.
He completed his bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 in physics from the University of Dhaka. He later obtained MPA in management from the Harvard University.
