The 11th Asian Tourism Fair 2024 will kick off in Dhaka on Thursday to boost the tourism industry in Bangladesh.

This fair will be held for three days, from September 19-21, at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka. The fair will be open from 10:00am to 8:00pm every day. It will be inaugurated on September 19 at 3:00pm.


A press conference in this regard was held in a city hotel on Tuesday.

About a hundred tourism organisations from Bangladesh, Maldives, China, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Bhutan and Singapore will participate in this fair. The fair will have various attractive travel offers, hotel, resort or package bookings, including special discounts for traveling within the country and abroad during the upcoming tourism season.

Among the organisations participating in the fair are hotels, motels, resorts, cruise lines, airlines, tour operators, theme parks, and many other establishments. Apart from this, there will be tourism-related seminars, drawing competitions for children, business to business meetings in the fair.

Every evening, during the fair, there will be cultural programmes featuring artists from China, Philippines and Bangladesh. Through this fair, a complete picture of the tourism industry will be presented to the visitors, said in the press conference.

The press conference was attended by managing director of Bangladesh Services Limited Atiqur Rahman, third secretary of Maldives High Commission in Dhaka Ashith Shamla, Biman Bangladesh Airlines general manager (sales) Mohammad Shamsul Karim, Tourist Police Bangladesh superintendent of police (legal and media) Mohammad Badrul Alam Mollah, InterContinental Dhaka food and beverage director Oliver Lorex, Bangladesh International Hotel Association president HM Hakim Ali, president of the Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh Abdus Salam Aref, president of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh Md Rafiuzzaman, head of brand of Mutual Trust Bank Rozer Ibn Azad and editor Porjatan Bichitra and organiser Mohiuddin Helal.
