Dhaka Comics has organised a fair that provides comic lovers an opportunity to explore and buy works of Bangladeshi comic book artists at its shop located on Pantapath, Dhaka.

The fair titled ‘Bangla Comics Fair’ is featuring 200 titles of Bangla comics from 17 publishing houses, including Unmad, Dhaka Comics, Kathaprokash, Kishor Alo, Centre for Research and Information, Panjeree Publications Ltd, Mighty Punch Studios, Graphic Bangla, Cartoon People, Prasiddha, Comics Ghor, Rongon, Super Kids, Grantha Kutir, Bidyanondo Publication and others.


Dhaka Comics founder and publisher Mehedi Haque said that the nine-day fair was the biggest exhibition featuring only Bangladeshi comics published in recent years.

‘Almost all of the recently published Bangla comics have been displayed under one roof at the fair,’ said Mehedi Haque, adding that the fair has already attracted many comic lovers.

‘We have received a huge response from comic lovers. Therefore, we are planning to do something big in the near future,’ mentioned Mehedi Haque.

Comic lovers can get a 30 per cent discount on purchases during the fair, which was inaugurated by renowned cartoonist, writer and editor of Unmad, Ahsan Habib, on Friday.

Besides comics, comic lovers can also explore several collectable items, including stickers, posters and t-shirts at the fair.

Bangla Comics Fair welcomes comic lovers from 11:00am to 8:00pm every day.

The comic books will also be available at the shop of Dhaka Comics after the fair, which will end on May 18.
