
Bangladesh’s Under-21 hockey team began their training camp at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in Dhaka today, ahead of the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025.
A total of 45 players have been called up for the camp. The players will start the camp under the guidance of two local coaches, Moshiur Rahman Biplob and Mohammad Ashikuzzaman, before a Dutch coach takes over in the first week of August.
The group comprises 16 players from the squad that competed under Moududur Rahman Shuvo’s tutelage in the Men’s Hockey Junior Asia Cup in Oman in December 2024, where they finished fifth and secured their first-ever qualification for the Junior World Cup.
‘The players will continue their training before the selection of the final squad. Initially, they will train under local coaches focusing on fitness…A coach from the Netherlands will take charges in early August,’ Bangladesh Hockey Federation general secretary, Lt Col (rtd) Riazul Hasan, told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· on Friday.
The 14th edition of the Junior World Cup will take place from November 28 to December 10 in two cities – Chennai and Madurai in India
