Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen on Sunday said in Dhaka that Chinese modernisation could offer some reference for Bangladesh at this crucial crossroads of transformation.聽聽

As Bangladesh stands at this crucial crossroads of transformations, I hope Chinese modernisation could offer some reference for Bangladesh and fellow Global South nations,鈥 said the Chinese envoy at the 鈥楥hina-Bangladesh Readers Forum on 鈥淴i Jinping: The Governance of China鈥濃.


The Bengali edition of the volume I of the four-volume book was launched at the event.聽

鈥楽uch a great pleasure to join all of you in the readers forum. Through the joint efforts of both countries, we鈥檝e proudly organise this forum about the Bengali edition of 鈥淴i Jinping: The Governance of China鈥 (Volume I),鈥 Yao Wen said.

The book is a collection of important works by Chinese president Xi Jinping written between 2012 and 2022.

Interim government adviser for the three ministries of power, energy and mineral resources ministry and road transport and bridges and railways Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan,聽 China International Communications Group president Du Zhanyuan,聽 Bangladesh Nationalist Party standing committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan, chief adviser鈥檚 press secretary Shafiqul Alam and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami nayeb-e-ameer聽 Syed Abdullah Mohammed Taher also spoke at the event jointly organised by the State Council Information Office of China, China International Communications Group,聽 and Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh at a city hotel.

Moyeen Khan said that the book talked about 鈥榙eeper reforms鈥 of the state what were now being discussed in Bangladesh.

He said that they also believed in socialism in the context of the welfare of the society.

鈥楾his work opens a window for the Bangladeshi readers to understand contemporary China. This book contains major contents of the Xi Jinping thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. It addresses the major challenges facing China, the world, the people and the times. It is a food for thought for anyone wishing to learn and read about China,鈥 ambassador Yao Wen said.

He further said, 鈥楲ots of Bangladeshi friends used to ask me how China could lift nearly 100 million people out of poverty. And I told him that: you may find the answers in this book,鈥 he added.

鈥業n this book, President Xi Jinping elaborated the idea of building a community with a shared future for mankind, as well as China鈥檚 path to modernisation. These ideas and the Professor Yunus鈥檚 vision for a 鈥淲orld of Three Zeroes鈥 are closely aligned and mutually reinforced,鈥 the Chinese envoy said.
