A three-member Chinese delegation, led by ambassador Yao Wen, paid a courtesy call on chief justice Syed Refaat Ahmed on Monday.

While exchanging greetings, they discussed the long-standing bilateral historical relations between Bangladesh and China at the meeting.


The Chinese envoy praised the various initiatives taken by the chief justice of Bangladesh regarding the institutionalisation of the country鈥檚 judiciary.

Ambassador Yao Wen hoped that the strong leadership of the CJ would play an important role in establishing good governance and ensuring justice in the country in the coming days.

The ambassador informed the chief justice that China was ready to provide all-out cooperation to Bangladesh in building a strong judiciary.

He expressed interest in implementing special training programmes in collaboration with judges of both countries to create mutual interaction in the judicial systems of the two countries and invited the CJ to visit China.

CJ Refaat Ahmed reiterated his commitment to the Chinese ambassador to establish the rule of law in post-revolution Bangladesh and assured Bangladesh Supreme Court鈥檚 full cooperation in enhancing mutual relations between the judiciary of both countries.

He mentioned that the judiciary of post-revolution Bangladesh was committed to provide the highest protection of human rights in the country.
