Bangladesh went to the break with a 3-0 lead, with forwards Md Manik (28th, 43rd) scoring a brace after Rifat Kazi gave his team the lead in the 11th minute. Ìý
Substitute midfielders Bayzit Bostami (50th) and Akash Ahammed (88th) scored the other two goals for Bangladesh, who are looking to qualify for the final stage for the first time since 2006.
However, over the last 19 years, Bangladesh U-17 teams’ best performances have been finishing group runners-up in 2017 and 2022.
In the other match of the group, Sri Lanka defeated Brunei Darussalam 4-0. Ìý
Bangladesh will take on Brunei Darussalam in their next group match at the Yongchuan Sports Centre Stadium on Monday.
In the other games of the six-team group, Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka at the Tonglianglong Stadium on November 26; Bahrain at the YSCS on November 28; and China at the TS on November 30.
