Bangladesh will take on hosts Jordan in the AFC Under-17 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers in a bid to prove their worth at the Aqaba Stadium tonight.

The three-team Group H opener is scheduled to start at 10:00pm Bangladesh Standard Time.

Saiful Bari Titu’s charges arrived in Jordan on Friday after a five-day camp in Dubai, where they played two friendlies against Syria and the UAE, winning both 2-0 and 3-0, respectively, on October 7 and 9.

‘We want to put on a good show to prove ourselves… We will do our best to qualify. I know it will not be easy, but we will try our best,’ said Titu in the pre-match press conference on Sunday.

In their other qualifier match, Bangladesh will face Chinese Taipei at the same venue on October 17.

A total of 27 teams, divided into eight groups—three groups of four teams and five groups of three teams—will compete in single-leg qualifiers at eight centralised venues across Asian countries.

The eight group champions will be joined by the four AFC representatives from the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025, who have automatically qualified: North Korea, Japan, South Korea, and China in the 12-team tournament.

The 10th edition of the competition will be held in China from April 30 to May 17, 2026.

Bangladesh previously reached the final round of the competition twice, emerging as group champions in a single round-robin format in both qualification tournaments in 2017 and 2019.

They missed out on a third consecutive qualification in 2023 after losing all three matches against Australia, the Philippines, and Vietnam during a double round-robin qualifying phase.
