The Asian Football Confederation has fined the Bangladesh Football Federation $1,500 for a two-minute delayed kick-off of the Asian Cup 2027 qualifier match between Bangladesh and Singapore at the National Stadium in Dhaka on June 10.

A circular released by the AFC on July 17 stated that the AFC disciplinary and ethics committee made the decision.

‘Bangladesh Football Federation is ordered to pay a fine of USD 1,500 for committing an offence under Article 2.2 of the AFC,’ stated the circular.

According to the circular, the second half of the match in Dhaka started at least two minutes later than the scheduled time and was fined under the Official Countdown Article of AFC Competition Operation.

AFC also said that the BFF has to pay the fine within 30 days of imposition, and a repeat offence of the same nature would cause a heavier sanction.
