
Six-time champions Abahani Limited were held to a goalless draw by Police Football Club in their return leg match of the Bangladesh Premier League at the Mymensingh District Stadium on Saturday.
In the day鈥檚 other match, Fakirerpool Young Men鈥檚 Club earned a 2-1 win over Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society at the Birshreshtha Flight Lt Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
Fakirerpool went to the break with a 1-0, with forward Imran Hossain giving them the lead in the 26th minute.
Defender Mosharaf Hussain Shanta doubled the margin in the 53rd minute before putting another one into his own net in the 90th minute.
In their first-leg matches, Abahani beat Police 2-0, while Rahmatganj crushed Fakirerpool 6-1.
After the 14th round of games, Abahani remained in second place of the table with 28 points, seven points behind league leaders Mohammedan Sporting Club, who have 35 points.
Meanwhile, Rahmatganj, Police and Fakirerpool remained in their previous positions, fourth, sixth and eighth, with 20, 20 and 16 points, respectively.
With the day鈥檚 outcome, bottom-placed Chittagong Abahani鈥檚 relegation has been confirmed as they collected only three points from 14 games.
It will not be possible for the port-city outfits to overcome Fakirerpool鈥檚 collection of 16 points even if they win their remaining four games.
Another promoted side Dhaka Wanderers still have their chances to avoid relegation as they have 10 points from 14 games.
