The Bangladesh Football Federation’s disciplinary committee fined Mohammedan Sporting Club Tk 2.5 lakh, Bashundhara Kings Tk 2 lakh, and Abahani Limited Tk 1 lakh on Friday on several issues, including unruly behaviour by their fans during recent Bangladesh Premier League matches.

Mohammedan were penalised for three distinct incidents involving supporters and officials, Kings for three, and Abahani for one.

The committee also decided to issue a show-cause notice to Kings, questioning why their future home games would not be held without fans at the Kings Arena owing to their supporters’ misconduct.

In addition, Kings assistant coach Mahbub Hossain Roxy and defender Saad Uddin have been barred from participating in any BFF-sanctioned events until further notice.

Roxy was found guilty of making an indecent gesture, while Saad was engaged in unsporting behaviour and pushed the match commissioner after being sent off following the match against Abahani.

The BFF will send show-cause notices to Kings, Roxy, and Saad within two days, and Roxy and Saad will remain suspended until the committee takes a final decision.

The committee gave no specific timeframe for final verdicts on them, and the chairman of the committee, Mejbahuddin Ahmed, said a second meeting will be held shortly to finalise the pending decisions.

In other disciplinary decisions, Kings’ support staff Tamim Shikari received a six-month stadium ban for verbally attacking Abahani officials after the match.

Meanwhile, Mohammedan fan Awlad Hossain was banned for a year after chasing a Brazilian player from Bangladesh Police FC in Cumilla.

Mohammedan were fined Tk 1 lakh for using a smoke flare during a league match against Kings.

Abahani were fined Tk 1 lakh for failing to control their supporters’ unruly behaviour during their match against Kings on May 2, 2025.
