League leaders Mohammedan Sporting Club lost two crucial points as they came from a goal down to draw 1-1 Fortis Football Club in their Bangladesh Premier League match at the Kings Arena on Friday.

Forward Piash Nova gave Fortis the lead in the 23rd minute before defender Mahbub Alam restored the parity for Mohammedan in the 73rd minute


In the day’s another match, defending champions Bashundhara Kings were also held to a goalless draw at the Birshreshtha Flight Lt Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.

Dhaka Wanderers could not come out of relegation zone even after they managed a 2-1 win over bottom-placed Chittagong Abahani in another game at the Mymensingh District Stadium.

For Wanderers’ midfielder Nazmul Islam Rasel scored a brace in the 37th minute and in the first minute of the stoppage time of the first half.

Ctg abahani midfielder Fazle Rabby pulled one goal back in the final minute of the fourth minute stoppage time of the first half. 

The day’s results had little effect on any of the teams’ positions, as Mohammedan stayed in first place with 35 points from 14 games, while Kings were third with 25 points from the same amount of games.

Brothers (20 points) and Fortis FC (19 points) stayed in fifth and sixth place, respectively, while Wanderers (10 points) and Ctg Abahani (three points) remained in ninth and tenth place following the 14th round of games.  Â
