Mohammedan Sporting Club were held to a goalless draw by their arch-rivals Abahani Limited in their return leg of the Bangladesh Premier League tie at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla on Saturday.聽

Mohammedan were reduced to a 10-man side as their defender Mahbub Alam was sent off with a straight red card in the 42nd minute of the game.聽


In Munshiganj, defending champions and five-time consecutive title holders Bashundhara Kings played a goalless draw against Rahmatganj Muslim Friend Society at the Birshreshtha Flight Lt Matiur Rahman Stadium.

In the other match of the day, Gambian midfielder Zakaria Darboe (13th) and Nigerian forward Mfon Udoh (76th) scored once each to secure a 2-0 victory for Brothers Union against bottom-placed Chittagong Abahani at the Mynmensing District Stadium.

In their first leg encounters, Abahani conceded a solitary goal defeat to Mohammedan while Kings handed a 4-1 goal defeat to Rahmatganj and Brothers beat Ctg Abahani 2-0.聽

The day鈥檚 results had no impact on the standings of the four clubs鈥擬ohammedan, Abahani, Kings, and Rahmatganj鈥攊n the 10-team table.

After playing out 12 games each, league leaders Mohammedan (31 points) are four points clear ahead of Abahani (27 points), followed by Kings (21 points), and Rahmatganj (19 points).

Brothers improved their tally with 18 points from 12 matches and moved to sixth in the table while the port city team Chittagong Abahani, struggling to avoid relegation in the league, with three points from playing the same number of matches.
