Freshers’ reception and farewell programme of philosophy department at Dhaka University was held at the university’s Teachers-Students Centre auditorium on Tuesday.

Pro-vice-chancellor (education) professor Mamun Ahmed attended the programme as chief guest while dean of arts faculty professor Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan was present as special guest, said a press release.


The event was presided over by philosophy department chairperson professor Shah Kawsar Mustafa Abul Ulayi.

Student adviser of the department professor Mohammad Daud Khan, professor Md Nuruzzaman, outgoing batch course coordinator professor AKM Yunus and freshers batch course coordinator Arina Khatun Jinia, among others, spoke at the event.

Md Sajeeb Khan on behalf of the freshers and Imran Hossain Shuvo on behalf of the outgoing batch also spoke at the programme.

In the second part of the event, a cultural programme was organised with the participation of the students of the department.
