The National Board of Revenue has made mandatory the online submission of certificates, licenses, and permits issued by 19 agencies under the NBR Single Window System for customs clearance of import and export consignments.
In a press release issued on Monday, the NBR stated that the Bangladesh Single Window System is an online platform that enables importers and exporters to apply for and obtain necessary CLPs.
To use the system, users must first register on the website using their Business Identification Number.
The key benefit of using the system for import-export processes is that all activities related to certificates, licenses, and permits required for import and export can be completed simultaneously online through a single platform with the relevant agencies.
Moreover, transparency and accountability would be ensured as personal contact in official procedures would no longer be necessary.
It would also be time- and cost-saving, and would enhance confidence among domestic and foreign traders.
The NBR also stated that as of Monday, the system has automatically issued a total of 3,89,015 CLPs.
The 19 agencies whose CLPs would now require online submission include DGDA, EPB, DOEX, BNACWC, BEZA, BEPZA, DOE, BSTI, BAERA, BAEC, CAAB, BTRC, DOF, DLS, PQW, BIDA, BGMEA, BKMEA, and CCI&E.
The NBR also instructed the stakeholders to contact the NBR hotline or the BSW website.
