The Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority on Tuesday signed a lease agreement with Chinese company M/s Qingdao Dongfang Packaging Technology Limited, according to a press release.

BEPZA member (investment promotion) Md Ashraful Kabir and Qingdao Dongfang Packaging Technology Limited chairman Song Shiliang signed the agreement at BEPZA Complex in Dhaka on the day.


Among others, BEPZA executive chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman was present.

Qingdao Dongfang will invest $4.5 million in Ishwardi EPZ to produce 5.25 million dozen poly bags, hang tags and paper tags annually, creating employment opportunities for 240 Bangladeshi nationals.

The BEPZA has secured investments totalling $480 million from 32 local and foreign companies as of May 13, 2025 of the 2024-25 financial year.
