Rubaba Dowla has been nominated as a director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, confirmed by the National Sports Council on Monday.听
Rubaba, an experienced corporate personality, currently serves as the country managing director of Oracle in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan.听
She鈥檚 also a board member of the Special Olympics Bangladesh and former president of the Bangladesh Badminton Federation. Rubaba formerly worked at Grameenphone and Airtel.听
It was learnt that Rubaba has already attended the board meeting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Monday.听
She becomes the second female BCB director after Monwara Anis Khan, who served in 2007.听
As per the BCB constitution, the NSC can nominate two directors on board.听
After the BCB election was held on October 6, the NSC nominated Isfak Ahsan and Yasir Mohammad Faisal as directors.
However, several posts started to circulate on social media that Isfak was involved in the politics of the Awami League, now a banned political party.
It was then reported that Isfak was removed from the post. But the NSC has now stated that Isfak resigned from the post.听
