Bangladesh face an uphill task when they take on four-time champions England in their second match of the ICC Women鈥檚 Cricket World Cup at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati today.

The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30pm Bangladesh Standard Time.

Bangladesh began the tournament with a convincing seven-wicket win against Pakistan, which will give them extra-confidence against the current runners-up.

Despite not having adequate preparation for the World Cup, Bangladesh left no excuse in their opener against Pakistan, with debutants Marufa Akter, Shorna Akter and Rubya Haider stepping up on the occasion to leave a mark on the world stage.

Marufa made a dream start by taking wickets in consecutive deliveries in the first over to finish with 2-31, while Shorna returned with 3-5, including three maidens in her four overs, to restrict Pakistan to 129 in 38.3 overs.

Rubya Haider struck her maiden fifty and remained unbeaten on 54, aided by skipper Nigar Sultana Joty (23) and Sobhana Mostary (24), guiding the side to elusive victory.

On the other hand, England opened their campaign with a crushing 10-wicket win over South Africa at the same venue.

Bangladesh have never won against England in any format, but the Joty-led side will be eager to break the chain.
