Rishad Hossain is set to miss the forthcoming Bangladesh Premier League to participate in the Big Bash League, a source confirmed on Monday.
The 23-year-old leg-spinner has received a no-objection certificate from the Bangladesh Cricket Board to play the full season of BBL for the Hobart Hurricanes.
‘Yes, he got the NOC to play the full BBL,’ a source close to the development said on Monday.
It is understood that Rishad’s decision is part of his plan to focus on his career development. He was drafted by Hobart in the previous season but did not play due to his national and BPL commitments.
He played for Fortune Barishal, the eventual BPL champions of last season.
Rishad, who is currently in the UAE for the ongoing Asia Cup, has also played in the Pakistan Super League for Lahore Qalandars.
