
Shahadat Hossain’s unbeaten 42 helped Bangladesh ‘A’ to recover from a precarious 6-2 in the second innings, but they were still trailing by 160 runs on the second day of the four-day match against South Australia in DXC Arena in Darwin on Thursday.Â
Bangladesh ‘A’, who had been bowled out for just 114 runs in the first innings, were 106-3 at stumps, with Yasir Ali unbeaten on 18, as they formed an unbroken partnership of 31 runs with Shahadat.Â
Bangladesh stumbled early when they lost Mahmudul Hasan (4) and Amite Hasan (0) cheaply in the second innings after conceding a lead of 266.Â
Shahadat then stitched a 69-run partnership with Iftakhar Hossain, who was dismissed for 35 runs.Â
Earlier, Jason Sangha’s innings of 143 runs, followed by contributions from Jake Fraser-Mcgurk (52 off 47), Harry Nielsen (86), and Henry Thornton (46), helped the host to post 380 runs in the first innings.Â
Anamul Haque and Hasan Murad each took three wickets for the visitors, Hasan Mahmud claimed two while Mushfik Hasan and Nayeem Hasan each grabbed one.Â
Bangladesh ‘A’, earlier took part in the Top End T20 series where they failed to reach the knock out stage.
