Bangladesh ‘A’ managed 123-9 in 20 overs after they were asked to bat first. Despite some early hiccups, Scorchers Academy cruised to the target with 12 balls to spare.Ìý
Bangladesh suffered early blows as they lost three wickets for just 25 runs with Jishan Alam, Mohammad Naim, and Saif Hasan all back in the pavilion.Ìý
Afif Hossain tried to drag the team forward but couldn’t find the momentum. Wickets at regular intervals didn’t help the left-handed batter either, who eventually remained unbeaten on 42 off 49 balls.Ìý
Mrittunjoy Chowdhury (16 off eight) and Rakibul Hasan (16 off five) helped Bangladesh to go past the 120-mark, but it was well below par score.Ìý
For Scorchers, right-arm pacer Jackson took 3-45, while Albert Esterhuysen claimed 2-21.
Hasan Mahmud then got the early breakthrough by dismissing opener Baxter Holt in the second over. Despite losing Jayden Goodwin during the powerplay, the Scorchers got off to a strong start.
Teague Wyllie (31 off 28) and then Curtis helped them to hold the innings together.Ìý
When Nayeem Hasan bowled Nick Hobson in the 13th over, Bangladesh saw an opening but could not capitalise on it.Ìý
Curtis and Matthew Spoors stitched a partnership of 45 runs to ensure the Scorchers’ victory.Ìý

Bangladesh ‘A’ now has one victory from three outings, as they beat Nepal ‘A’ before losing to Pakistan Shaheens.Ìý
