Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz鈥檚 participation in the first of the two-Test series against Sri Lanka was in doubt after he missed the team鈥檚 training session due to fever at Galle on Sunday. 听
听The first Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka starts at Galle on Tuesday.听
Sri Lanka is currently experiencing an outbreak of dengue, chikungunya, and influenza. Nevertheless, Bangladesh head coach Phill Simmons said that Mehidy is showing signs of improvement.听
鈥楾he last update is that he鈥檚 [Mehidy] better than he was in the last couple of days,鈥 Simmons told reporters at Galle.听
鈥楬opefully he will get better and can join the practice tomorrow.鈥
But Simmons didn鈥檛 hide the fact that it would be a concern for them had Mehidy not fit for the first Test.听
He said, 鈥榊eah, it adds a bit of concern. But again, one man鈥檚 trouble is another man鈥檚 joy.鈥
鈥楽o I鈥檓 sure the guys will be willing to get him better but also think that 鈥淚f he鈥檚 not playing, I鈥檝e got to step up.鈥 So it鈥檚 a little bit of a headache, but it鈥檚 a nice one to have,鈥 he added.听
