Pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been ruled out of Bangladesh’s tour to Pakistan due injury, said a Bangladesh Cricket Board media release on Sunday night. Â
Mustafiz has sustained a clip fracture of his left thumb, which will keep him out of action for at least two weeks, said the press release. Â
‘Mustafizur suffered a clip fracture on his left thumb while playing his last match of the Indian Premier League yesterday. This injury requires a period of rest and rehabilitation. As per our current assessment, he will be unavailable for selection for the next two to three weeks. We will conduct a follow-up evaluation after two weeks to monitor his recovery progress,’ national team physio Delowar Hossain Siva was quoted as saying in the press release. Â
The BCB national selection panel has named fast bowler Khaled Ahmed as Mustafiz’s replacement in the squad for the Pakistan tour.
