Nurul Hasan Sohan is set to lead Bangladesh A team in the three-match one-day series against their New Zealand counterparts starting at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.
The match is scheduled to start at 9:00am, and T Sports will telecast it live.
The BCB has announced the squads for the one-day series as well as for the first four day game on Sunday.
Parvez Hossain, Tanvir Islam, Shamim Hossain, and Shoriful Islam—who have been called up to the national T20 squad for the forthcoming UAE and Pakistan tour—will feature in the first two one-day games.
Amite Hasan, Afif Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, and Mukidul Islam will join the A team for the third game. The latter three also are in the squad for the four-day match.
Nurul, who represented Bangladesh in 64 international matches across the formats, said that their primary goal will be to win the series.
‘Of course, our goal is to win matches,’ Nurul told reporters ahead of the first match.
‘New Zealand are a strong side with a lot of international experience. Our players have been playing for a long time as well; they have experience too. But what matters is playing as a team, and we’ll try to do exactly that.
‘Whatever responsibility I’m given, I try to give my best. I never focus on myself or talk about myself—I don’t even want to hear personal praise. Cricket is a team game, and I want us to perform well as a unit. Even if all eleven players don’t shine, we should still play good cricket as a team,’ added the wicketkeeper-batter.
The second and third one-day games will be played at the same venue on May 7 and 9, respectively. The first four-day game will start on May 14, which will also be held in Sylhet.
The two teams will then move to Chattogram for the second four-day game, scheduled on May 21 at the Bir Shrestha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium.
