
Zahiduzzaman Khan鈥檚 unbeaten 85 off 88 guided Brothers Union to a comfortable six-wicket win over Shinepukur Cricket Club in the Relegation League of the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday.聽
Shinepukur, already relegated with just one win and two points throughout the tournament, opted to bat first and managed 180-9 in 33 in a rain-curtailed match.
Chasing the target, Brothers lost two openers, Mahfijul Islam (8) and Bishal Chowdhury (7), early, then Zahiduzzaman and Mizanur Rahman added a 132-run partnership for the third wicket as Brothers reached the target in 30 overs.
Zahiduzzaman struck eleven fours and a six in his match-winning knock, while Mizanur scored 69 off 56, laced with four fours and five sixes.聽聽
Earlier, Shinepukur鈥檚 Minhajul Abedin Sabbir scored the team鈥檚 highest 59 off 54 balls, while others had a brief stay at the crease.
Rahatul Ferdous claimed 3-37, while Sumon Khan (2-38) and Salauddin Shakil (2-25) picked up two wickets each.
With this win, Brothers (seven points) kept their chances of avoiding relegation alive. They only need to defeat Partex Sporting Club, who sit above them with eight points, in the final match of the relegation league.
However, if the match is suspended, both teams will share points, and Partex will overcome relegation.聽聽
