Bangladesh Under-19 women鈥檚 cricket team suffered a 41-run defeat against their Indian counterparts in the inaugural ACC Women's Asia Cup final in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

With the loss women鈥檚 team missed a golden opportunity to make it double after the Bangladesh men鈥檚 Under-19 team won the Asia Cup beating India earlier this month.


Set a target of 118 runs, Bangladesh struggled and were bowled out for just 76 runs in 18.3 overs.听

Juariya Ferrous was the top scorer for Bangladesh with 22 runs while Fahomida Choya contributed 18.听

Aayushi Shukla bagged 3-17 to rip through Bangladesh's batting lineup while Parunika Sisodia and Sonam Yadav took two wickets apiece.听

The team faltered after a promising start during the powerplay, with none of the other batters managing to reach double figures.

Earlier, India scored 117-7 in the allotted overs, thanks to opener G Trisha, who scored a solid 52.听

Farjana Easmin stood out for Bangladesh with impressive bowling figures of 4 wickets for 31 runs in her four overs.听

Earlier, Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka and Nepal in the group phase to confirm the Super-Four berth.听

In that phase, they lost to India in the first qualifier and beat Nepal in the eliminator to confirm the final.听 India however won all matches before reaching the final.
