A farmer died of electrocution while threshing paddy at Maheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah on Friday.
The deceased is Manoranjan Ghosh, 60, son of Kantalal Ghosh at Shivanandapur village of Natima union of the upazila, officer-in-charge of Maheshpur police station Nazrul Islam said.
The police officer said that the incident took place at around 10:00am when the paddy threshing machine got electrified due to a faulty electrical connection.
OC Nazrul said that the body was handed over to his family.
Filing of a legal case is underway in this regard, he added.
