Vice-chancellor of Pirojpur Science and Technology University Professor Md Shahidul Islam at an event in Pirojpur on Friday urged students to acquire skills in various fields.
鈥楢chieving good results does not bring success in life. For success, you have to acquire skills in various fields,鈥� Shahidul Islam said at the Barisal regional competition of the 16th National Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad-2025, said a press release.
He also addressed the students that they would get the opportunity to acquire those skills through the mathematics Olympiad, urging them to regularly participate in such events along with their studies.
The competition, organised with the support of AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation and the initiative of Bangladesh Mathematics Association, was held at Pirojpur Science and Technology University.
Presided over by Professor Shahidul Islam, computer scientist, columnist and writer Professor Mohammad Kaikobad was present as the chief guest at the event.
Akhter Hossain, dean of the faculty of science of the university, delivered the welcome speech at the programme, conducted by Md Mosharraf Hossain, chairperson of the mathematics department of PRSTU.
