The government formed a ‘Press Accreditation Appeal Committee’ so that journalists can file appeal after being aggrieved by the decision of ‘Press Accreditation Committee’ that entitled to issue accreditation cards against journalists to enter secretariat for professional purpose.

Information and broadcasting secretary Mahbuba Farjana and principal information officer of the press information department Md Nizamul Kabir have been made president and secretary general of the committee respectively.


Other members of the committee are press secretary of the chief adviser Shafiqul Alam, Bangladesh Press Council secretary Md Abdus Sabur, Bengali newspaper ‘Daily Naya Diganta’ editor Salah Uddin Muhammad Babor, NTV news editor FM Moazzem Hossain and Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalist secretary general Kader Gani Chowdhury.

According to notification of the information and broadcasting ministry, the committee will dispose of the appeals within 30 days of their reception.
