A fire broke out at Incepta Pharmaceuticals’ factory in Dhamrai, on the outskirts of Dhaka on Saturday night, leading to disruption of the factory’s internal power supply.
The fire started around 8:30pm on the fourth floor of Building No. 9 at the company’s main complex in the Barabaria area of Gangutia Union, said Sohel Rana, senior station officer of Dhamrai Fire Service.
Fire-fighters brought the blaze under control within an hour, officials said.
‘The fire originated from an electrical short circuit and was doused after an hour’s effort by three units of the Dhamrai Fire Service,’ he said.
No casualties were reported in the incident. However, the factory’s internal power supply system was damaged, the official added.
Authorities said that the extent of financial losses could not be determined immediately.
