Bangladesh Medical University held a seminar on ‘how to write academic transformation fund sub-project proposal for the UGC-run higher education acceleration and transformation project’ at the BMU in Dhaka on Thursday.
The HEAT project, run by the University Grants Commission, is an important initiative, which is being implemented with funding from the Government of Bangladesh and the World Bank, said a press release.
The main objective of the project is to modernise and reform the country’s higher education system, thereby making it relevant to the times by increasing the quality, relevance and international competitiveness of higher education.
BMU vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam was present as chief guest while BMU pro-VC for administration Professor Dr Md Abul Kalam Azad was present as special guest at the seminar, which was presided over by BMU pro-VC for research and development Professor Dr Md Mujibur Rahman Hawlader, said a press release.
Moderated by Dr Hurjahan Banu, associate professor of the department of endocrinology, Professor Dr Md Mozahar Ali, AFT management expert of the University Grants Commission, delivered the keynote at the seminar.
Mozahar Ali provided initial guidelines for preparing a successful research proposal for the HEAT project, giving an idea about the various aspects of preparing AFT sub-project proposals through an informative presentation, which will play a role in enhancing research capacity.
