Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology has inaugurated the academic activities at the second building on its campus in Dhaka.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the university鈥檚 Uttara campus and was graced by Professor Mostafizul Haque, eminent artist and chairman of the board of trustees, as chief guest, said a press release on Saturday.
Professor Md Shah-E-Alam, vice-chancellor of Shanto-Mariam University, presided over the ceremony.
Speakers expressed gratitude for this progress, offered prayers for the eternal peace of the founder chairman of the university late freedom fighter Md Imamul Kabir Shanto鈥檚 soul and voiced optimism that the remaining construction work would be completed soon, said a press release on Friday.
鈥楾his new phase stands as a testament to our founder鈥檚 enduring vision 鈥� a centre of excellence dedicated to creativity, innovation and ethical education,鈥� said Professor Md Shah-E-Alam.聽
The newly inaugurated section includes the swing lab and display centre for AMMT, a computer lab, a fine arts painting lab, and a cafeteria, among other facilities that will serve students and faculty across various programmes.
Also present were Ahsanul Kabir, chairman of Shanto-Mariam Foundation and Sundarban Courier Service and member of the board of rrustees; Par Moshieur Rahman, registrar of the university; and Jiangxi Flip and Mohiuddin Taher, Chinese and Bangladeshi directors of the Shanto-Mariam Honghe Confucius Classroom, among others.
Construction of the second phase of the permanent campus began on January 23, 2023, following the foundation laying of the first phase on July 20, 2017.
