Local government expert Professor Tofail Ahmed died at a hospital in Bangladesh capital Dhaka Wednesday night.
He was 71.
鈥楻etired professor of public administration at Chittagong University and local government expert Tofail Ahmed died at the United Hospital a day after he was admitted there with heart complications,鈥� said a press release.
Tofail Ahmed was initially made a member of electoral reform commission in October 2024 by the interim government鈥檚 chief adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, but later he was made head of the local government reform commission, according to the release.
