Under the National Legal Aid Services Organisation project, 1,63,028 cases have been so far disposed of through alternative dispute resolution system.
According to the reports published in the website of the organisation, these services were given from 2009 to August this year. Of the total, 1,61,113 cases were resolved through 64 district legal aid service offices and 1,915 cases were disposed of through the labourers legal aid cells in Dhaka and Chattogram.
The reports said that 1,82,172 cases were submitted to the NLASO offices during the time for ADR, adding that 3,15,530 people were so far benefited through this system.
During the time, 12,82,997 people were given legal aid services, the report added.
The NLASO has been providing such legal assistance to the poor and insolvent people of the country with government cost under the supervision of the law and justice division of the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry.
