Two college students went missing after a boat capsized in the Chengi River at Naniarchar in Rangamati on Tuesday night.
Officer-in-charge of Naniarchar police Nazir Alam said that the missing students were Delijen Chakma, 18, and Jigesh Dewan, 18. 鈥楨fforts are being made to rescue them.鈥�
Sabekshang union chairman Supom Chakma on Wednesday said that six college students from Shankholapara went to the Jagannath temple in Naniarchar Bazar to enjoy the Durga Puja festival.
He said the boat capsized due to strong winds in the Mahajanpara area while they were returning to Shankholapara by boat at about 10:00pm.
After the accident, four students managed to swim ashore while two others remained missing, the chairman added.
Meanwhile, additional district commissioner of Rangamati Md Ruhul Amin said that a diving team had left for Naniarchar to rescue the missing students.
