A youth lost his life Tuesday morning after being struck by a train at Middle Sonapahar BSRM gate in Mirsarai upazila of Chattogram.
The deceased is Mohiuddin, a truck driver and also the son of Azizul Hoque of Sonapahar area of Jorarganj Union.
Ashraf Uddin Siddiqui, in-charge of Sitakunda-Railway police outpost, confirmed the incident.
The accident occurred when an intercity train 鈥楶aharika Express鈥� crushed Mohiuddin under its wheels on the Dhaka-Chattogram railway line in the Sonapahar area of Jorarganj Union at around 9:00am as he was standing near the railway line, the police official said.
He died on the spot, he added.
Being informed, police recovered the mutilated remains of Mohiuddin鈥檚 body.
