Maritime ports of the country have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal no 3 as low pressure over the Bay of Bengal has intensified and turned into a well-marked low.
In a special weather bulletin on Friday, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said that the low developed in the northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining west central bay off the Odisha-Andhra coast of India had turned into a well-marked low at 6:00am on Friday.聽
鈥業t is likely to intensify further. Under its influence, a steep pressure gradient lies over the North Bay. Gusty or squally winds may affect the maritime ports, the North Bay and Bangladesh鈥檚 adjoining coastal areas,鈥� the bulletin said.
The sea ports of Chattogram, Cox鈥檚 Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been asked to hoist local cautionary signal no 3.
Meanwhile, BMD鈥檚 regular weather forecast issued for the period from Friday to 6:00pm on September 30, predicted that light to moderate rain/thunderstorms accompanied by temporary gusty wind was likely to occur in several divisions, including Dhaka and Chattogram until September 30.
Today, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms is likely to occur at a few places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country.
Tomorrow, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country on these two days.
On Monday, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms is likely to occur at a few places over Chattogram division and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi,Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country.
Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country on the day.
On Tuesday, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.
Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country on the day.聽聽聽
