Bangladesh Bridge Authority signed a deal with the Anchor Soil-AEC JV for the construction of bus bays, passenger shelters and foot over-bridges at the Jajira end of Padma Bridge at the conference room of the BBA in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Bridge Division secretary, routine responsibilities, Momtaz Begum was present as chief guest at the event. Chief engineer Kazi Md Ferdous signed the agreement on behalf of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority and director Md Masud Rana signed the agreement on behalf of Anchor Soil-AEC JV, said a press release. 


Momtaz Begum said that there was no bus station and foot over-bridge at the Jajira end of the

Padma Bridge. ‘Passengers have to cross the road by running and walking, which is very risky. This leads to the possibility of road accidents.’

The construction of bus bays, passenger shelters and foot over-bridges at the Jajira end of the Padma Bridge is very important, Momtaz Begum mentioned.

The chief guest gave instructions to complete the construction of bus bays, passenger shelters and foot over bridges by maintaining the quality of design and work within the stipulated time.

Senior officials of the Bridge Division, Bangladesh Bridge Authority and representatives of Anchor Soil-AEC JV were present at the agreement signing ceremony.
