North South University’s school of humanities and social sciences hosted a seminar on ‘Camouflaging Crisis: A Political Economy Analysis of Non-performing Loan Suppression in Bangladesh’ on Tuesday on its campus in Dhaka.

The session accumulated a diverse audience of faculty members, academics, students, and economics enthusiasts, said a press release. 


The speaker for the session was AKM Waresul Karim, professor of accounting and finance, and dean of the school of business and economics at NSU.

Md Rizwanul Islam, Professor of law and dean of SHSS at NSU, moderated the session and provided the opening remarks.

Md Zakir Hossain, deputy managing director and CRO-acting of Mercantile Bank PLC, served as the discussant while Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, NSU vice-chancellor, graced the programme as the chief guest.
