Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology鈥檚 mechanical and manufacturing engineering faculty emerged as the champions of the Shimul Memorial Inter-Faculty Football Tournament, defeating the electrical and computer engineering faculty 2-0 in the final on Monday.
The tournament, organised by the CUET Teachers鈥� Association in memory of the late teacher Shimul Bishwas, culminated in an award ceremony at the university鈥檚 central playground, said a press release.
The award ceremony was graced by the chief guest, CUET vice-chancellor Professor Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan. Special guests included Professor Kazi Delwar Hossain, dean of electrical and computer engineering faculty, and registrar-additional duty Professor Sheikh Mohammad Humayon Kabir.
Professor GM Sadiqul Islam, president of the Teachers鈥� Association, along with other association leaders, was present.
Tournament鈥檚 best player was Md Russell Rana while highest goal scorers were Professor Md Sanaul Rabbi, Nezam Uddin, and Md Russell Rana. Besides, best goalkeeper was SM Fahim Faisal and Professor Md Sanaul Rabbi was awarded player of the final prize.
