Bangladesh Nationalist Party-backed former lawmaker Professor AKM Kamruzzaman passed away on Friday at the age of 85.
He breathed his last at around 12:00pm at United Hospital in Dhaka, Shamsuddin Didar of the BNP chairperson鈥檚 media wing confirmed.
His first Namaj-e-Janaza was held on the day at Banani Chairman Bari Road Jame Mosque after jumma prayers.
He will be laid to rest at the family graveyard in Nangolcoat village of Cumilla after asr prayers on Saturday.
Professor AKM Kamruzzaman is survived by his wife, sons, daughters and numerous relatives and well-wishers.
Kamruzzaman was elected member of parliament from Cumilla-11 constituency in 1991, representing the BNP.
