
The North South University Law and Mooting Society, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, hosted the grand finale of the National Policy Competition 2025 at the NSU in Dhaka on Thursday.
The event was organised as part of the Festival of Youth 2025, commemorating the first anniversary of the July uprising, said a press release.Â
This flagship competition was designed to engage university students in policy, development and leadership discussions, providing a crucial platform for young minds across higher educational institutions to contribute to the national policymaking and decision-making.
The programme began with the national anthem, followed by welcome remarks from Professor Md Rizwanul Islam, professor of law and dean of school of humanities and social sciences.
The morning session featured a series of policy paper presentations by the finalist teams, who demonstrated innovation, strong research skills and practical solutions before an esteemed panel of judges.
The ceremony was graced by Lutfey Siddiqi, special envoy on international affairs to the chief adviser as chief guest.
He stated, ‘When we ignore the evidence presented for certain information and present it as if it were our thought, it can become misinformation itself.’
Ministry of Youth and Sports secretary Md Mahbub-Ul-Alam and founding life member of the board of trustees of North South University Benajir Ahmed attended as special guests at the event, which was presided over by Professor Abdur Rob Khan, pro-vice-chancellor, in-charge, and treasurer of North South University.
The grand finale concluded with the announcement of results and award distribution, where the winning teams were recognised for their analytical abilities and contributions to policy discourse.
The event’s champion was Team TriLex, the 1st runner-up was Ink and Impact and the 2nd was The Litigation Wizards.
