The ITET–BUTEX Career Fair 2025 was held at the Bangladesh University of Textiles in Dhaka on Wednesday.

The fair, organised by the BUTEX Career Club in collaboration with the ITET, brought together industrial organisations of the country, creating opportunities for direct interaction between students and industry representatives, said a press release.


Vice-chancellor of the BUTEX Professor Md Zulhash Uddin inaugurated the fair.

Around 25 top organisations took part in the fair, including Dekko ISHO Group, Fakir Apparels, Masco Group, Decathlon Bangladesh, Babylon Group, SGS Bangladesh, Urmi Group, Sterling Styles, Knit Asia, Ha-Meem Group, Snowtex, Epyllion Group, BRAC Career Hub, Viyellatex, Fashion Step Group, Dysin, Colortex, and Fakir Knitwears Ltd.

Several companies also conducted on-spot recruitment.

Students mentioned that such events boost their confidence and allow them to directly communicate with corporate officials.

The fair also featured a panel discussion, where senior officials from Fakir Group, Transfer Chemicals, Masco Group and Maliha Export Import Company exchanged views on the growth of Bangladesh’s textile sector, global competition and technological adaptation.

In the afternoon, an HR summit was held with top HR executives from Dekko ISHO Group, Epyllion Group, Urmi Group and Babylon Group.

They emphasised building closer ties between industry and academia and bridging the skills gap.

Later, in the Inditex Zara’s session, The Professional Edge, officials from Zara guided students on soft skills, teamwork, interview preparation and workplace adaptability.

The day-long workshops and discussions concluded in the evening with a closing ceremony.

BUTEX VC was present as chief guest while ITET convener Ehsanul Karim Kaiser, chairman of the Textile Engineering Division Mohiuddin Ahmed Selim, Masco Group executive director Mahbub Milton and managing director of Knit Empire Ltd Md Enayet Hossain attended as special guests at the event.

Professor Zulhash Uddin said, ‘BUTEX graduates are talented and competent. We will take initiatives to establish a job centre at the university so that students receive greater career support.’

‘Such events should be held regularly every year,’ he mentioned.

Najmuch Sakib, president of BUTEX Career Club, said, ‘Along with job opportunities, we arranged panel discussions and the HR summit focusing on career development of students.’

General secretary FM Sazzad added, ‘This successful arrangement was the result of six months of preparation.’
